Why You’re Going to Love the 2018 Honda Fit

August 24th, 2017 by

The Honda Fit is a versatile, compact vehicle loaded with safety, technology, and convenience features. The 2018 model is available in four trim levels, the LX, Sport, Ex, and EX-L, with the Sport trim as a new option released for the new Fit. Could one of these subcompact hatchbacks be for you? Here are some of the coolest features and benefits of the 2018 Honda Fit.

Versatility and Convenience

One of the most impressive features of the new Fit is its storage capacity. All trims come standard with 60/40 split seating, including a second-row Magic Seat (the second row can be folded down to create more storage room). The Honda Fit is a hatchback that can seat up to five people, and with the back row folded flat, drivers can get up to 52.7 cubic feet of cargo space. The Fit can also be rigged with a trunk strap-on rack or a roof rack system to transport bikes and other light cargo. Just remember to check the owner’s manual regarding weight capacity restrictions before heading out on a trip.

Customization: Accessories, Upgrades, and Options

The Fit is highly customizable. Drivers can add interior blue LED lights and an illuminated door sill to brighten the floorboards and lower door, or they can go with an additional cargo net or cargo organizer to help keep things in place while traveling. You can also enjoy some extra interior protection with rear seat covers and all-season floor mats — excellent for families with kids or messy puppies.

Premium Safety With the Honda Sensing System

Both trims come equipped with the Honda Sensing system. This includes the manufacturer’s collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist system, and more. A multi-angle rearview camera comes standard on select trims to help keep you safe on the road.

Comfort and Technology

The safety features aren’t the only technologies and conveniences you’ll find in the new Fit. The EX and EX-L trims come with a push-button start, sliding sun visors, and cargo area tie-down anchors. The EX-L has leather-trimmed seats and heated front seats, and all models are Bluetooth compatible. The Sport, EX, and EX-L trims include a 7-inch touch screen display as well as Apple CarPlay, AndroidAuto, and HondaLink connectivity. A satellite-linked navigation system is available on the EX-L build.

All trims have the In-Line 4-Cylinder engine (a 1.5-liter engine) capable of achieving up to 130 horsepower and 113 pound-feet of torque. This will vary depending on the trim and transmission configuration. A six-speed manual transmission and a continuously variable automatic transmission are available.
